I am Judit, a London-based Packaging Graphic Designer passionate about food related design with a strong belief in designers’ responsibility to drive positive changes around us by means of our work.
I first ventured into packaging design six years ago and I am currently employed full time at Harrods, immersing myself in the world of luxury packaging through working on their own-label food and cosmetics ranges. Before this, I spent almost two years at a small and friendly packaging agency called Butterflies & Hurricanes in the city of Prague. At B&H, I could stretch my creative muscles and create anything from exclusive chocolate boxes, through discount supermarket private labels, to alcohol bottles. I worked with clients big and small, including many old and traditional Czech brands and international giants, such as Nestlé or Penny Market.
My interest in food design does not stop at packaging. As my degree project for my MA Graphic Design course at the London College of Communication (UAL), I worked on a speculative project about future food. This was rooted in my research into the multi-sensory experience of eating and the growing concerns around the food industry, such as food waste, sustainability, environmental issues, food scares and health. Designers have a growing responsibility to facilitate change, which I try to keep in mind while working on commercial projects as well.
